Sen. Mark Warner’s statement on President Trump’s address

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) released the following statement on President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress:
“Tonight, President Trump touted policies that are raising prices for Americans, draining our federal workforce, illegally threatening government programs and benefits, and terrorizing the immigrant communities that have shaped Virginia. The president bragged about his reckless plan to isolate America from its allies, turn our back on long-kept partnerships, raise taxes on hardworking families, and reverse historic advancements in U.S. innovation and competition. Our country can – and should – do better. I will continue doing everything I can to fight for Virginians.”

Someone who finally has common sense. Wake up America,!

With respect, holding to norms and decorum is NOT doing everything you can do to fight for Virginians! You do better, Senator. Get into some good trouble. Virginians are watching and depending on you!

I’ve been a life long democrat and I thought the democrats looked childish and sullen during Trump’s speech. Their signs said nothing! Slotkin’s rebuttal was NOT a rebuttal.

Hmm…did we watch the same address to Congress? Democrats should be embarrassed for the way they acted…childish!!

Just talk senator. Democrats are showing how they lost last time and will lose again. This is not time for acting nice. We are experiencing a coup and democrats are scared to say it. I will not be voting for you this November. If you are not willing to fight to keep our country from Russia I don’t need you there. Also I am on SS. It’s going to be cut. And all I get from democrats are wanting money.

Warner is far removed from reality he sits with his career government wage and healthcare that he doesn’t deserve. Where was he when grocery prices increase 50 to 100 percent under Biden? Most people have been living in recession the Democrats didn’t want to mention. What about AEP why not get involved in them overcharging people ridiculous costs. Another issue far cat Warner won’t talk about. I’m so tired of the finger pointing by Warner and Kaine they do nothing and should not continue career in politics.

they also voted to keep trans boys in girls sports! I will not be voting for either one

Senator, how can you so wrong about so much? Are you really trying to support all the waste we have seen recently? Why didn’t you speak up when the Biden crowd was wasting so much.? You can’t really be for all this waste! Why not meeting the President half way instead of fighting everything he does? How could you vote against the recent bill to protect women’s sports?

it’s time for you to go, Warner. Start packing your bags now!

I been a Democrat all my life but these don’t believe in the same things I believe in. Both of them need to go I was totally embarrassed at how they acted at the speech. What has our First Lady done not to be a knowledge what has that you boy who has been battling cancer done not to stand up for him, what has those mothers who lost their daughters to illegal aliens done not to stand up for them. Both of you will not stand up for all the girls who play sports. I don’t believe young ladies should be forced to witness boys running around naked in locker rooms or in girls bathrooms. Democrats acted shameful I will never vote for either.
