Woods, Water & Wildlife: What’s out there in these Woods?

In my last column, I told I would finish a column on The Bow & Arrow but with Halloween coming up, I thought I would attempt writing on something that I have studied and read about over the years that is mysterious and scary to people that have had encounters with a certain animal. The conclusion of the archery column shall follow in a couple of weeks. This animal is known by several names such as “Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, and The Abdominal Snowman” found in and around the Himalayan Mountains.

There have been several sightings over the years and pictures taken and even movies made depicting these mysterious creatures. Some even argue they are a missing link from their existing stage into mankind; but I do not buy this as it is an evolutionary view and I believe the Biblical account of all animals produce after their kind i.e. a cow could not bear after mating with a horse. Also, the scientists have found hat DNA from the ape, monkey etc. does not match that of humans-(they like to say, “Evolution is a Fact”), but is actually a pseudo religion (false one). There have been government investigations and even the F.B.I. asked to identify the hair found from a sighting; but they could not and got off the hook by saying they were responsible for criminal investigations only.

My good friend, Roger Willman, who writes for the other “Rag” in town and I both agree that there is something out there and had a picture of what may have been a Bigfoot and was in a 1914 column by him. I became acquainted with a Clarence (Tom) Mabry (now deceased) who lived at the road going into the Cascades Falls at Pembroke. He had met a person who described a sighting of this animal and Mabry wrote a fictious book describing how he camped out and searched and eventually found several of these of the “Bigfoot” family. We, in the early Eighties did a boundary survey for the Forest Service in this area known as Butt Mtn. It encompasses a very large mountainous area including Big Stony Creek and I have hunted and fished in there and I believe animals that are nocturnal could live in this vast domain and very rarely be seen if at all.

I read the book, The Long Walk by Stawomir Rawicz, a Polish Army Lieutenant, who was captured after Russia in 1941 and was imprisoned in a Siberian prison. He and six others escaped and walked south around 4000 miles out of Russia across the Gobi Desert, Tibet and over the Himalayas into India and were picked up by the British Army in December 1942. He related how they sighted an upright male and female animal that fit the exact same descriptions of The Abominable Snowman, Bigfoot etc. There is “Something Out There”- better stay out of the woods the 31st.

People tend to be skeptical in most societies and the Jews were in the time of Jesus Christ. He was both man and God (having a Jewish mother, Mary) – “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many received him, to them gave he power to became the sons (and daughters) of God.” John1: 11,12 (KJV). With all the turmoil today, we look for one to come and straighten this messed up world (AND HE”S COMING SOON) – you need to be ready; “now is the day of salvation” II Cor. 6:2b (KJV).

Until next time…
