Randolph House Foundation commits additional $25,000 to ACCE program

The Randolph House Foundation of Pulaski is pleased to announce that they have committed an additional $25,000 to the New River Community College ACCE program. This $25,000 will be in addition to the $25,000 the Randolph House pledged in the Fall of 2017. Conditions for the donation are that the total $50,000 commitment be matched with funding that has not already been pledged, and that the funding be available to all students. No student shall be discriminated against based on their course of study.

“While we understand that there may be another program proposed, we do not believe that only students studying manufacturing should be allowed to participate. All students should be treated the same,” said President Benny Keister, who spoke for the entire board.

ACCE is an economic development public/private partnership that makes college available debt-free to high school, home-schooled and private school graduates. ACCE covers tuition on the condition that participants complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), graduate high school with a minimum 2.5 GPA, and perform 80 hours of community service a year.

The goal of ACCE is that students will graduate from NRCC prepared to join the workforce or transfer to a four-year university without college debt. ACCE supports as many students as possible based on student need and funds available for the program.
