Polcha named to replace Stafford as Assistant School Superintendent

Several key personnel changes were ratified by the Pulaski County School Board at its meeting Tuesday evening.

Leading the list is the appointment of Sarah Polcha as Assistant Superintendent. The move takes effect July 1 following the retirement of current assistant superintendent, Chris Stafford.

Polcha currently serves as Director of Special Education for the school system.

Another change involving Stafford is in finance, where Morgan Sklar will be the school system’s new Director of Finance as of April 17.

Stafford announced in December, following his  election to the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors, that he planned to retire from the school system at the end of June.

Tonia Singleton is the new Coordinator for Elementary and Pre-K Curriculum and Instruction, as of April 5. She replaces Stacey Heller.

Jeff McCoy, longtime successful drama teacher at Pulaski County High School, will leave the school system June 30 as he is retiring.

William Atwood, Director of Instruction and Curriculum is also retiring as of June 30 as well.
