Fly-In at the New River Valley Airport

Pulaski County logoPulaski County is excited to announce a brand new community event coming to the New River Valley Airport on October 7, 2023; the 2023 Fall Fly-In. This free event is open to the public from 10am to 4pm.

In the past, the airport has hosted fly-ins for pilots and their passengers. However, this Fall Fly-In will be open to the public with a day full of excitement planned.

The Fall Fly-In will feature a variety of activities through the air and on land. Watch as planes land and take-off through the day with floor bomb contests over the airfield. Other activities will include bounce houses and slides, pumpkin painting, paper airplane contests and more.

NRV Scenic Air Tours will be offering plane rides with a special event discount.

Local favorite food and drink trucks will be present at the event including Community Dough, Bubba’s Barn and Iron Heart Winery.

“The airport is a valuable asset to Pulaski County Tourism and impacts the county’s economic development that has a lot of potential. There are so many people that come through our airport daily and I see it as an opportunity to tie in the community with exciting events,” said Erika Tolbert, Pulaski County Tourism Director.

“The New River Valley Airport Commission is excited to showcase the airport’s services and infrastructure to the flying community, and make the general public aware of not just a great community asset, but also the fun and practicality of aviation,” said Aaron Brummitt, New River Valley Airport Manager.

“My hope is to continue partnering with NRV Airport to expand on more community events,” said Tolbert. “The airport is a wonderful asset to not only Pulaski County, but to the entire New River Valley. Therefore, I think hosting events like this is a great opportunity for pilots and their passengers to get a taste of what Pulaski County has to offer beyond the airport runways as well as a chance for the community to see what goes on at the airport, how it is being utilized, and by whom.”

Pulaski County is looking forward to the community taking part in what is set to be an outstanding event at the airport.
