Larry Crane was an exceptional person and a friend to all. I had the privilege of knowing and working with him for many years as we both loved working for the Game Department (now known as DWR).
Larry played a key role in restoring wildlife and providing opportunities for people to enjoy a variety
of wildlife related activities.
We shall miss him greatly but we shall never forget
the exception individual that Larry Crane was.

Larry was a close friend that I admired for his sincerity and good humor. We shared a common interest in bird dogs and grouse hunting.
Larry was an exceptional wildlife biologist that I respected for his commitment to wildlife conservation and hunters in the region. Larry played a critical role in support of DGIF/DWR wild turkey research and management projects. Larry gave unselfishly with his time and efforts to achieve Department wildlife conservation goals.
Larry fought a tough battle against a difficult disease. I have the utmost respect for his will and determination to not let the disease define or limit him.
I feel fortunate to have known and worked with Larry. He will be long remembered and missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Got to know Larry when we both served on the FSA committee. He regaled us with his stories of bear relocations and other wildlife adventures. A fine man and a real character! He never complained about his medical issues, and set a good example for us all to follow.
