Danville to host Pulaski on Friday with title game trip on the line

Pulaski’s River Turtles rallied with seven runs in the sixth inning and pounded Bluefield Thursday night, 14-8, but still ended the regular season a half-game back of Danville in the Appalachian League East Division.

Danville rallied in the bottom of the ninth to beat Burlington, 6-5 to claim the top spot in the East.

Danville will now host Friday’s one-game playoff with Pulaski, with the winner going on to Saturday’s league championship game against either Kingsport or Johnson City.

Pulaski ends the regular season with a 25-20 record, while Danville was 25-19.
