Altercation between man and school bus driver ends in charges

On Aug. 10, 2023 officers from Pulaski Police Department were contacted by Pulaski County Public Schools administration and made aware of an incident that had occurred earlier in the afternoon involving a school bus.  According to school staff, an altercation had occurred between an irate parent and a bus driver.

School officials provided officers with surveillance footage from the bus involved.  The footage showed a vehicle operated by Steven Richard Aydelotte of Pulaski pass the bus on a double yellow line.  Aydelotte then stopped in the road in front of the bus, which forced the bus to have to stop.  Aydelotte then exited his vehicle, approached the bus, and engaged in a verbal altercation with the driver.  Several children were on board the bus during this incident, however, none were harmed.

Upon viewing the footage, officers obtained arrest warrants for Aydelotte for Disorderly Conduct and Reckless Driving.  The warrants were served on Aydelotte a short time later.

Pulaski PD wishes to remind parents that any problems related to school buses should be handled by contacting the school administration and not via direct confrontation with bus drivers.
