Blue Ridge Bike Fest coming to Motor Mile in September
After a one-year hiatus, The Blue Ridge Bike Fest will thunder back to life September 28th and 29th in Radford, Va.
Blue Ridge Bike Fest will make its first appearance in the New River Valley, partnering with Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway for the ninth installment of the acclaimed motorcycle rally.
The sprawling motorsports complex will afford Blue Ridge Bike Fest promoters the ability to expand amenities and program offerings. New additions include camping options, a convenience that will better accommodate weekend visitors.
Waynette Anderson, creator and owner of Blue Ridge Bike Fest states, “We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support in wanting us to continue to produce the event. Guests, sponsors and vendors looked forward to this event every year. We just felt that we weren’t able to produce a true rally and compete with out-of-state motorcycle events at the facilities we had rented in the past.
“We were very excited when we were asked to partner with Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway to produce the event as a team. The venue’s amenities, like the dragway and oval track, will allow us to produce a one-of-a-kind show,” Anderson adds. “Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway’s layout solves so many problems we could not remedy at other places. For instance, on site tent and RV camping will be available. There will be plenty of motorcycle parking in close proximity to the activities. And separate areas for cars to park.”
Motor Mile Speedway & Dragway General Manager Michelle Vaught notes the potential tourism impact on Pulaski County and neighboring localities as a result of the highly-anticipated return of Blue Ridge Bike Fest.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting Blue Ridge Bike Fest. An event of this magnitude has the potential to benefit Pulaski County in ways unlike any event previously held at our facility,” explains Vaught. “The Blue Ridge Bike Fest team is exceptional; this show will have something for everyone. We’re expecting to see quite a few new faces at the track this September.”
Hailed as the largest motorcycle rally in Virginia, Blue Ridge Bike Fest presented by Skolrood Law Firm will feature nationally-recognized performers in concert, entertainment, vendors, the Miss Blue Ridge Bike Fest Bikini Contest, and much more. Show details, including a schedule of events, are forthcoming. Information will be made available online at www.blueridgebikefest.com and www.motormilespeedway.com.

Why in the world did they stop doing this? Every year I attended it was slammed with people. Who cares if your not as big as some other events. Ridiculous that they stopped.
