Former Cougar great, Eric Webb has died
The Patriot has learned that former Pulaski County High School football great Eric Webb has passed away.
No details were known Wednesday night.
According to Cougar football historian, Mason Clark, Webb averaged over 9 yards per carry in his career for the Cougars.
In the Cougars’ 35-20 state championship win over Thomas Dale High School in 1992, Webb scored three touchdowns, blocked two punts and had nine tackles and a quarterback sack on defense.
The game pitted Webb in a battle of star running backs, with Webb outplaying Thomas Dale’s Ken Oxendine who later went on to play for Virginia Tech and the Atlanta Falcons.
