Interest builds locally for town elections
Interest is building among some local residents who are considering becoming candidates in the May 1 town elections in Pulaski and Dublin.
Kathy Webb, Director of Elections and General Registrar, said today candidate packets for those considering bids for council are ready at her office.
Several potential candidates, she noted, have already picked up packets.
Citizens interested in becoming candidates for council in either town have until March 6 at 7 p.m. to return their paperwork to the registrar’s office and become qualified as candidates.
The Registrar’s Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to hand out packets and answer questions. Those with questions can also call 980-2111 or email Webb at kwebb@pulaskicounty.org
Webb noted one change in this year’s election. In previous town elections, names on the ballot were listed alphabetically. Starting with this year’s election, ballot order will be determined by time of filing. Webb also reminded that April 9 is the deadline for registering to vote in the May 1 election.
