Lady Cougars fall to Christiansburg, 10-3 in softball

The Pulaski County Lady Cougars softball team fell hard Tuesday at home to Christiansburg, 10-3.

The Lady Cougars took a 2-1 lead into the second inning after scoring two runs on wild pitches.

In the top of the second, however, things fell apart for Pulaski County as Christiansburg scored two runs to take back the lead. The Lady Blue Demons would score at least one run in each inning the rest of the way to take the win.

Laken Greever took the loss for Pulaski County, going all six innings while giving up 11 hits and 10 runs – 6 earned – with six strike outs and five walks.

The Lady Cougars were held to just two hits – one each by Cassidy Price and Sydney Phibbs.

The loss drops Pulaski County to 1-2 on the season.

The Lady Cougars are back in action tonight at 7 p.m. in Hillsville to take on the Carroll County Lady Cavaliers.

Next Tuesday, the Lady Cougars host Radford and then on Thursday they travel to Roanoke to face Patrick Henry. Both contests are slated to begin at 5 p.m.
