Miss Virginia to support Coats for Kids
American Business Women’s Association – New River Valley (ABWA NRV) continues to work with the Women’s Resource Center of the New River Valley, a domestic violence shelter in Radford, VA.
Brenda Eanes is chairwoman of ABWA NRV Coats for Kids, a coat drive to help women and children in domestic abuse in the New River Valley. ABWA NRV has collected Coats for Kids and Adult coats for 14 years and provides them for the Women’s Resource Center NRV. The 2023 coat drive ended on October 31 with over 450 coats collected. There were 26 Business drop off locations.
Outstanding partners with the coat drive include Radio Station WPSK, “Curtis in the Morning 107.1”. Curtis Crowder in Pulaski advertises the coat drive. Marcus Moore, owner of A Cleaner World in Blacksburg, VA donates the cleaning of the coats.
All those fleeing domestic violence, women and children, who go to Women’s Resource Center NRV, Radford, VA, will be able to receive a coat if needed.
Miss Virginia 2023, Katie Rose, will attend the ABWA NRV coat presentation luncheon on November 15, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Christiansburg Blacksburg Hotel, 99 Bradley Dr NW, In Christiansburg, VA.
Ending Domestic Violence by empowering women and enabling reform is Katie’s Community Service Initiative as Miss Virginia.
