Obituary for James Lacy Smith Jr.

James Lacy Smith Jr., 90, of Dublin, passed away on Sunday, March 19, at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Medical Center. He was born on July 9, 1932, to the late James Lacy Smith Sr. and Clara Church Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Rosie L. Smith. He is also preceded in death by two daughters: Dreama Reynolds and Brenda Underwood; brothers: Richard Smith and Sherman Smith.

Mr. Smith was a family man, and one who had many interests. He enjoyed spending time woodworking, could be found outdoors, usually fishing, but most importantly you could find him in a pew on Sundays attending church with his family at New Hope Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Sandi Bryant (Rick), Connie Jennings (Lloyd), Tammy Nichols (Ron), Garry King (Donna), Odessa King, and Gayle Akers; special friends: JoAnne Hypes and Bill Newman; along with numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who loved him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Norris-Stevens Funeral Home with Randall Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until time of the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
