River Turtles fall to Elizabethton, 3-0
The Pulaski River Turtles would fall to the Elizabethton River Riders in a defensive battle to a score of 3-0. Pulaski now falls to 21-13 on the season while Elizabethton now stands at 18-15.
The River Riders would start the scoring off in the third, an RBI double and an error, and would make the game 2-0 after three. There would be five scoreless innings after that until Elizabethton would tag on an insurance run in the top of the ninth and make it 3-0.
Pulaski would find the game-tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth but couldn’t find a way to bring in those runs.
The win would go to Drew Gillespie; allowing three hits, no runs, walked none, and struck out six. The loss would go to Brandon Gielow; allowing one hit, two runs, walked one, and struck out 4.
Player of the game would go to Mark Trotta, going 2-4 on the night.
Pulaski continues their six-game home stand Friday and look to tie the series with a rematch against Elizabethton.
