In the age of rapid information dissemination, transparency and fairness are not just expectations but vital components of any democratic process. However, recent events surrounding the delayed posting of this critical video have left me in a state of confusion and concern.
This much-anticipated video capturing the essence of the recent candidate forum was delayed, and the reason, it appears, was an unfortunate insistence by one of the candidates performance during the forum was subpar, particularly during the questions and answers segment. As a consequence a,certain sponsor of the event held off on the release of the video until the PCPatriot took the initiative to share it on their Facebook page.
Such actions undermine the principles of transparency and accountability. Every candidate who participates in a public forum should be subject to the same standards of transparency, with the public having the right to access information necessary for informed decision-making.
It is imperative that all stakeholders involved prioritize the greater good and ensure that the electoral process remains untainted by any form of unfair advantage or bias. Only then can we move forward as a community with faith in our elected officials and the democratic process that governs us.
