Museum to host Spirits Along the Wilderness Road event

Join the Wilderness Road Regional Museum for a family friendly and  educational horse drawn wagon ride into the past at our 2019 Spirits Along the Wilderness Road Event.  History happened here and every October spirits appear to help us tell their story.  A leisurely 30 minute wagon ride will transport guests back the early days of Historic Newbern.   Spirits such as 10 25 WRRM Spirits of James Patton ChrisAndrew Jackson, Henry Hance, Colonel Rutherford B. Hayes, Mary Draper Ingles, Colonel James Patton,  Colonel William Christian, and so many more that once lived or visited Newbern will make their appearance again.  The wagon ride leaves every 30 minutes 4-8pm.  Due to the popularity of the event, we highly suggested calling to reserve seat on the wagon.   This event will sell out, so please call the museum at 540-674-4835 or text 540-818-3804 to guarantee your spot.  $10 donation per rider, Newbern Mulled Apple Cider and Pear Butter Cookies available before and after the ride, plus heritage inspired crafts for the children in the log kitchen.  All aspects of the Spirits Along the Wilderness Road are family friendly and based on true historic events.   Funds collected from this event with further education outreach at the museum.   Thanks to our sponsors, Hethwood and Foxridge Apartments which helps make this event possible.
