Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after President Trump’s first State of the Union Address:
“President Trump’s address presented to the American people the accomplishments of his Administration from the past year and offered a blueprint for further progress. Tax reform has led to more money for workers and investment in our country. Cutting red tape is helping our industries compete in the world. By ending the war on energy, and for us, coal, we have unleashed our resources and become an energy exporter. ISIS is on the run. These are notable accomplishments.
“I believe President Trump charted the path forward on the work yet to be done. We can make better trade deals that serve our interests, rebuild our infrastructure, and strengthen our national defense. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House and with the Administration to advance these goals in Congress. The American people deserve our best efforts to overcome these challenges.”
