Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery In Dublin To Host Annual Memorial Day Ceremony On Monday, May 30

Public Invited And Encouraged To Attend

The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. EDT.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this tribute to honor and remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Nation.  It is recommended and requested that attendees plan to arrive at 9:00 a.m.

The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery is located at 5550 Bagging Mill Road, Dublin, Virginia 24084.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Major General Randal D. Fullhart (US Air Force, Retired).  He will be introduced by Master of Ceremonies Dr. Terry Wildman. Music will be provided by the 29th Division Band.

Members of the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery Volunteers will place American flags on all graves prior to the ceremony.

The Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery is one of three state veterans cemeteries operated by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS).  There will also be Memorial Day Ceremonies held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, and at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond.
