VDOT: Section of Route 100 in Giles County blocked by rockslide

SALEM – A rockslide is blocking about 0.5 mile of Route 100 in Giles County between Narrows and Pearisburg.  Route 100 is closed to through traffic between its intersections with Thomas Drive and Route 711 (Fletchers Mountain Road).

The Virginia Department of Transportation expects this to be a long-term closure lasting multiple days and will complete repairs as soon as possible.

Motorists can use Route 460 as an alternate route around the closure.
