Book Signing by local author this Saturday
You Are Set Up To Win: Local entrepreneur Yvetta Gueste will be at Valley Harvest Ministries this Saturday at 1 p.m. to sign her new book, You Are Set Up To Win.

Local entrepreneur and author Yvetta Gueste is holding a book signing at 1 p.m. this Saturday November 3 at Valley Harvest Ministries in Dublin. The book is titled “You Are Set Up To Win” and focuses on Yvetta and several other women who have become successful businesses owners.
Yvetta Gueste and her husband, Walter, moved to the NRV from the Chicago area many years ago. Walter came to work for Kollmorgen in Radford, while Yvetta spent several years working in administration at New River Valley Community College.
When the pandemic hit, Yvetta began having a change of heart regarding her career.
“We started teleworking from home in March 2020,” said Yvetta. “Once I punched off the clock at 4 p.m., I would work on my business. I did that from March 2020 to February 2021. So, I retired from corporate America in February 2021 and decided to work full time on my own business, Paparazzi Jewelry.”
These days, Yvetta sells her jewelry on Spotify and regularly does live video presentations on her Facebook page promoting her wares. A room in her Radford home serves as her office and warehouse for her jewelry business.
“When you make a decision, you have to work the numbers and make goals,” Yvetta related. “So, when I saw that I could do this and when I saw the numbers coming in, it was that much easier to go full steam ahead.”
Yvetta admittedly loves jewelry and shoes, but that hasn’t always been the case … at least the jewelry part.
“When I was growing up I was a Tomboy,” Yvetta recounted. “My ears weren’t pierced and I didn’t wear any type of jewelry. I played basketball and wore Chuck Taylor All Star Sneakers … I had them in every color. As I got older and entered into corporate America, I realized I had to take on a different look and it was then when I started wearing jewelry and I have ever since.”
Yvetta is one of a group 10 lady entrepreneurs who call themselves the “Ebony All-Stars,” and it was them, along with a publisher friend of Yvetta’s, who came up with the idea of writing, “You
Are Set Up To Win.” Each of these ladies, including Yvetta, wrote one chapter in the book.
“Owning your own business is better,” said Yvetta. “You’re making your own hours. Calling the shots and managing your own time is much better than working for someone else.”
Yvetta will be at Valley Harvest Ministries this Saturday at 1 pm, to sign copies of her new book.
“What God put in you, is in you to be the winner he created you to be,” Yvetta related. “So everything you need is already in you. You’re already set up to win. So many people are afraid to venture out and do something different, you’ve just got to take that initial step.”
