Pulaski County won the Class 4 Region D crown on the road last Friday by beating old rival Louisa County, 66-52.
Paige Huff led the Lady Cougars with a big night, scoring 26 points. Keslyn Secrist added 22 in the victory.
Also scoring were Hannah Keefer with 10 points, Tori Vest with 4 and both Jaden Lawson and Kenzlee Jones with 2.

Pulaski County’s opponent Friday, Sherando, is no stranger to the Lady Cougars. PCHS beat Sherando – out of Stephens City, Va. – last year, 54-44 in the quarter-finals of the state tournament.
The two teams have had one common opponent this year in Millbrook. Pulaski County defeated Millbrook this season, while Sherando split two close games.
According to the MaxPreps sports service computer rankings, Pulaski County is currently ranked No. 1 in Class 4, while Sherando is sitting at No. 5.
The Pulaski County – Sherando winner will move on to face the winner of Louisa County (No. 9) vs. Tuscarora (No. 4), who also play Friday, in the state semi-finals next week.
In an earlier contest of note, Tuscarora – also of Leesburg – defeated Sherando, 43-29.
The winner of that semi-final contest will then advance to the state championship game against one of these four: Matoaca, Hampton, Hanover or last season’s champion, King’s Fork.
