Feedback from council, residents leads to changes at town’s ‘Y-intersection’
Residents have demonstrated a positive response to the two-way traffic changes. As a result of feedback from the council and residents about the intersection of East Main and 3rd Street and the several stop signs, effective Wednesday (May 17th) afternoon, the painted stop bar and arrows on East Main Street at Duncan Ave. will be removed, and motorists should yield to flowing traffic on East Main Street when making the left turn onto Duncan.
This will allow traffic to flow freely onto Main Street indicated by dashed double yellow lines.
The stop sign on East Main Street, coming from downtown at the Y-intersection will also be removed, allowing a continued flow of traffic.
Stop signs will remain on Duncan Ave and 3rd Street coming onto East Main.
