State Police investigating fatal crash in Giles County
Virginia State Police Trooper J.C. Reynolds is investigating a fatal crash in Giles County. The crash occurred Dec. 21, 2018 at 12:43 a.m. at the intersection of Route 460 and Route 626 in the Town of Pembroke.
A 2015 Hyundai Elantra was traveling west on Route 460 when it ran off the left side of the highway, became airborne, and struck a tree.
The driver, Jessica L. Loux, 26, of Pembroke, Va., died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The passenger, Jaron L. Whitaker, 26, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
