Over 50 violations cited in Sobriety Checkpoint

A Sobriety Checkpoint conducted by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police during the evening of Friday Oct 20, 2017 proves successful with over 50 violations cited in the four hour period. Some of the charges issued during this DMV Grant funded detail were Driving Under the Influence, Felony Drug Possession, Misdemeanor Drug Possession, Driving Suspended to include a subject wanted for multiple Grand Larceny and False Pretense Warrants. The checkpoint was held on Route 11 at the Thornspring Golf Course Area and over 850 vehicles were checked as they traveled either northbound or southbound. A special thanks to Josh Tolbert, Emergency Services with Pulaski County, for assisting with the lighting needed to provide a safe area for those working the detail.
